Just wondering what the line in this image means:

Thought it might be indicating the default device, but it stays on the same device regardless of what's set as default. I set other devices as default for playback, recording, and communication, and that line stays there.

Also, that margin would be a good spot for showing what each device is set at, e.g. a P for playback, R for recording, and C for communication, so one device might have a P and another an RC or one might be set as all three and be labeled with a PRC. Could also use colors if a legend were included at the top.
