shell.promptGuidance renders the HOST's dialect only (a macOS session never
carries Windows rules again); the system prompt's Shell Execution Policy
section, the bash tool description, and harness platformCommands all consume
it. shell.pythonInvocation is the one Python answer (managed-runtime absolute
path, else python/python3) — 'py -3' is deleted from prompts/system.md, all
11 model templates, the bash description, and harness commands (it resolves
via the registry and bypassed the runtime PATH prelude: the Windows-only
missing-modules class). codexDeveloperInstructions strips the section
entirely — Codex owns its own shell, ending the contradictory double
instructions. 14 hand-synced prose copies -> 1 function.
